A man in his 60s has been shot outside Surahammar on Thursday evening in connection with a hunt.
The region writes that the man is badly injured and underwent emergency surgery, but that his condition is stable.
– It’s a hunting accident, one person has been shot, the police have been alerted and two ambulances are on the scene, says Fredrik Karlsson, ambulance conductor at the healthcare emergency center.
The alarm came in at 20:33 and the ambulance arrived at the scene at 20:50.
– We received a call that a person had been shot in connection with hunting. He was awake and talkative but seriously injured, says police RLC officer Thomas Bertze.
The police have been on the scene and investigated the incident. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, according to the police he was hit by a bullet.
– It is about an accident. We have started a preliminary investigation with the criminal classification of causing bodily harm, but there is no suspicion of intent, it is due to negligence, says Thomas Bertze.
