TPS striker Eetu Liukas was again involved in many things when the home team defeated Tappara 1–0 and narrowed the final series to 1–3.
One of the spring manifestations of TPS has been the winger Eetu Liukas. He doesn’t dodge anyone in the trough and ignites his own and Teps supporters with his raunchy tackles.
In Tuesday’s fourth final, Liukas riveted Tappara Petteri Puhakan for a moment to the locker room side. Behind Plex, TPS’s Fanikatsomo got excited about the tackle. Puhakka returned to action a moment later.
After the game, Sport asked Slippery if he had a Turku version About Esa Tikkanen.
– That’s a tough argument already. Well, everyone can draw their own conclusions. Let’s accept that, if you say so, Slippery smiled.
Tikkanen was the rough and efficient player of the Edmonton Oilers during the golden years of the club. Slippery, in turn, elevates the spirit of TPS.
Towards the end of the game, he rushed to defend his teammate Juuso from Persiawho got into the Tappara Mangel.
– It got a little squirrel. I don’t know if Persian caused it himself. It has been our motto that a teammate is helped to the last and no steps are taken. We put a black and white heart into the game.
The only goal of the game was scored by the defender Elmeri Eronenwhich hit the pole a moment earlier and then tapped in through the pole.
– Definitely the most important goal of my career, once the incentive is played, Eronen described.
Liukas was also on the ice during the winning goal.
– Yes, we want to win. We’ve been the underdog in a way in every match series. Today we were better and deserved bounces. Winning made it easier. We now know what it is against Tappara. Now we just have to keep going, Slippery mood.
On the way to the final, TPS dropped HIFK 4–3 and then Ilves 4–2.
The fifth final will be played on Thursday at 6.30 pm in Tampere. Tappara leads the match with 3-1 victories.
