We are all weak in the face of nostalgia, especially when we reach an age where our purchasing power allows it. As was the case 10 years ago with the PS4, Sony Interactive Entertainment will market a special edition of its PlayStation range to celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary. It was on December 3, 1994 that the first PlayStation appeared on the Japanese market, with its pretty gray dress and colorful logo. And this is exactly the look that all PlayStation products will have when they are released. We do not yet know the exact marketing date, but we do know that pre-orders will open on September 26. Standard PS5, PS4 Pro, PlayStation Portal, DualSense, DualSense Edge, even the cables will be dressed in the colors of the PS1, for the pleasure of our eyes and our memories. The sale price has not yet been announced, but we do know that the PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary will only be available in 12,300 copies worldwide, in reference to the Japanese release date of the first PlayStation, December 3, or 03/12. Its release is however scheduled for November 21.
Several bundles are offered, either with the classic PS5 or with the PS5 Pro, while accessories will also be sold individually. There is even a USB-C connector in the shape of a PS1 controller socket, enough to make us fall for it for good.
