Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is due out in theaters in May. Before that, Marvel Studios took care to lift the veil on a new trailer during the Superbowl 2022.
[Mis à jour le 14 février 2022 à 14h39] On the occasion of the Superbowl 2022, a major sporting but also advertising celebration, Marvel Studios has chosen to unveil a trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the second episode of the paranormal adventures of Doctor Stephen Strange camped by Benedict Cumberbatch. After having explored some of his powers and attributions in Doctor Strange but also a remarkable appearance in Spider Man No Way Home, the Supreme Sorcerer returns to the cinema with a sequel directed by Sam Raimi. This, as we can see in the trailer unveiled during the Superbowl, intends to plunge Doctor Strange into a universe close to madness. He will also be accompanied by Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen reviewed in 2021 in the Disney+ Wandavision series.
After appearing in Doctor Strange, Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange will soon be back in a second solo film. Entitled “The Multiverse of Madness” (which can literally be translated as The Multiverse of Madness), the feature film will again feature Stephen Strange in the role of Marvel’s wizard. A time expected for the end of 2021, Doctor Strange 2 will now be released on May 6, 2022 in the United States, or May 4 in France.

Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange who, with the aid of mystical allies old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous realities of the multiverse to face a mysterious new adversary.
Which actors in the cast of Doctor Strange 2?
Benedict Cumberbatch reprises the role of Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange 2: The Multiverse of Madness. At the casting, it was also announced that Elizabeth Olsen will appear in the role of Wanda Maximoff / The Scarlet Witch, a logical outcome after the post-credits scenes of the Wandavision series (Disney +). Rachel McAdams will also return as Christine Palmer, while Benedict Wong will star as Wong. Chiwetel Ejiofor will also be cast as Mordo.
Sam Raimi is directing Doctor Strange 2
Doctor Strange 2, by its full name Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, will indeed be directed by Sam Raimi. The filmmaker, to whom we owe Evil Dead in particular as well as the very first Spider-Man trilogy, had been expected to take over from Scott Derrickson for a few weeks already. During an interview with ComingSoon in the United States, Sam Raimi has confirmed that he is well at work on the sequel project to the Marvel film released in 2016 and worn by Benedict Cumberbatch. The American website reported a sequence in Spider-Man 2 in which Jonah Jameson and an associate think about a name to give to Otto Octavius (Dr Octopus) when his partner proposes Doctor Strange. It is at this point that Jameson explains that this pseudonym is already taken. Many years later, Sam Raimi will therefore carry out the continuation of the adventures of the Supreme Sorcerer.
Regarding this reference almost two decades earlier, the filmmaker explains that it is a pure coincidence but takes the opportunity to confirm for the first time that he is indeed involved in the Doctor Strange 2 project: “J loved Doctor Strange as a kid, but he was always behind Spider-Man and Batman in my mind, probably number 5 on my list of greatest comic book characters because he was so original. But when we were shooting that scene in Spider-Man 2, I had no idea that we would ever make a Doctor Strange movie. It was very funny to see the coincidence of this line in the movie. I must admit that I would have liked to know that I I will be involved in this project one day.”
