A new search function is super practical – here’s how to use it

There is a new search filter in Pokémon GO. He can help you with your raid teams.

What kind of search term is that? A trainer shared his latest find in the Pokémon GO community on Reddit. These were new search terms that were introduced with update 0.289.1.

These are these two special characters:

What do the special characters mean? If you enter these characters as a search filter with a Pokémon type, you will receive the following overviews:

  • > only shows you monsters with attacks that are very effective against one type. The search term >fire would show you all monsters whose attacks can act strongly against fire.
  • <, on the other hand, shows you all monsters that have a weakness against a type.
  • New Find is perfect for strong raid teams

This is how coaches react: In the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” trainers are happy about the new find. The user “Samerz360” probably came across this because he usually puts these symbols on his Shinys – and was surprised by the new search results.

Other players are now praising the function because it offers a good opportunity to put together suitable raid teams, even if you don’t have the type effectiveness yet. If you then know which of them are the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO, you can use them in the raid.

How do you apply this? For example, if you are fighting against the new raid boss Terrakium, you can enter >rock or >fight and see some of the monsters that could be suitable for your raid fight, at least in terms of attacks.

What do you think of the new feature? Will you use them for raids, or do you generally not need them? Tell us in the comments!

In the new update, trainers also found a hint that two new legendary forms could be coming soon: an entry in the Pokédex apparently indicates this. Everything about it here.
