A new round is expected in the Greek election

The polling stations have now closed and in the first polling station surveys the party gets between 36 and 40 percent of the votes.

Alexis Tsipras’s left-wing alternative Syriza looks set to get between 25 and 29 percent.

Those figures indicate that the country is going to a second round of elections, when a party or an alliance must reach 50 percent to win. None of the three largest parties have said they are willing to cooperate, it is likely that there will be a second round of elections early in July.
