In World of Warcraft the community is desperate. A new puzzle is so difficult that some people want to cheat – and Blizzard gently warns.

Patch 11.0.5 is currently active in World of Warcraft and is mainly celebrating the MMORPG’s 20th birthday. However, there are also a lot of hidden puzzles. Some are more “obvious” and part of a quest line, others are much more hidden.

But the hidden puzzles are something else: extremely difficult. So complicated that Blizzard even has to clarify the rules again.

What kind of riddle is this? What exactly awaits at the end of the puzzle is not yet completely clear. What is known, however, is that it has a lot of individual steps and – at least many hope so – leads to a new mount in the end.

What did Blizzard say about this? Blizzard has made it clear in the official WoW forum what is necessary to solve the puzzle – and what is not. There were quite clear statements about this:

  • There are no class restrictions – every character can solve the puzzle.
  • Addons are not necessary – all puzzles can be solved without the use of addons.
  • There is no time limit – once a puzzle is released, it will remain available (with the exception of Alyx’s quests, which are part of the Anniversary Event).
  • Purchases are not necessary – None of the secrets require items from the shop or account services.
  • Bannable behavior is not necessary (or allowed!) – anything that could result in account penalties, such as hacks or glitches, is not necessary and cheaters will receive the appropriate penalties.
  • Puzzles are difficult but fair – everything you need to solve the mysteries of Azeroth is at your fingertips.

    • At the end they said: “Please solve the puzzles at your own pace. Some puzzles are extremely challenging compared to other content. Please take your time and have fun with it!”

    Why did Blizzard say that? The puzzle causes some problems when solving it, because even the professionals are slow to find new clues – sometimes not at all. The more desperate puzzle pros become, the more likely people are to try to solve the puzzle using cheats (like exploiting glitches). Mostly under the assumption that the puzzle must be “bugged” and that this is just a way to get around the bug.

    Blizzard has now made it clear that this is definitely not the case.
