A new MMO on Steam lets you explore its open world and solve puzzles together

Coming out in February 2024 a new MMO on Steam, which focuses on completely different things than most games in this genre. You can find out what you can expect here on MeinMMO.

What kind of game is this? Island of Insight is a new MMO on Steam, scheduled to release in February 2024. The game has currently finished the open beta phase.

The game focuses on completely different aspects than most MMOs. Island of Insight is attractive because it completely foregoes combat and instead offers you an open world full of puzzles and secrets.

We have the latest trailer for the game here for you:

This is what awaits you: At first glance in the trailer, Island of Insight is reminiscent of “The Talos Principle” and, upon closer inspection, could also be described as an MMO version of this puzzle adventure.

In this open world you explore the different areas on foot or by flight and find new puzzles at every corner. And that’s exactly the focus of the game: solving puzzles and uncovering the ancient secrets of the world.

As you can see in the trailer, the puzzles seem quite varied. Apparently, various puzzles, labyrinths, logic puzzles, challenges in which you have to use different perspectives, as well as the search for hidden objects are waiting for you. With some puzzle quests you can also unlock new areas.

A relaxed MMO for anyone who likes to spend their time exploring a world

What the developers promise you is that you can do it all at your own pace. Because of this and the different levels of difficulty of the puzzles, Island of Insight should be interesting for both beginners and experienced puzzle players.

So Island of Insight seems to be just right for all players who like to spend their time exploring an open world. Because there is no linear order in which you have to solve the puzzles. You decide whether and when you accept which challenge.

How much the MMO aspect affects the gameplay is only briefly touched on in the trailer. It is clear that as players you share a common world and seamless interactions are possible. As mentioned in the trailer, you can also get tips from other players. However, it is not clear whether you can solve the puzzles together directly.

What do you think of the concept behind Island of Insight? Are you looking for a relaxed MMO without combat? Feel free to write your opinion in the comments.
