A high school student living in Cenon, near Bordeaux, was taken into police custody this Friday March 29 after death threats and threats of an attack against a high school. The day before, two brothers were arrested in Hauts-de-Seine.

A 16-year-old teenager was arrested in Cenon, in the Bordeaux region, in Gironde, this Friday March 29 at 6:30 a.m. He was taken into police custody, according to information from BFMTV. The police suspect him of having threatened to commit an attack against a high school, and of having also threatened to kill certain teachers and the management of the establishment.

The high school student allegedly threatened his principal and four teachers by email on Tuesday March 26, 2024. He also explained that he wanted to blow up the establishment. These emails were signed “the Daesh warrior”. All the people targeted by these emails have filed a complaint. The young man is now in police custody for “apology of terrorism” and “death threats”. He would have partly admitted the facts, explaining that he was “lazy to go to class last Tuesday”, according to a judicial source at BFMTV.

The Minister of National Education, Nicole Belloubet, visited this high school this Friday, March 29. “I will deploy a mobile school force which will remain national and which can be deployed in establishments which are experiencing difficulties”, she announced on site.

Two other arrests the day before

This event occurs less than 24 hours after two other arrests in Hauts-de-Seine. Two brothers, born in 2005 and 2007, were arrested in Malakoff. Arrests which took place as part of the investigation into the hacking of the digital work environments (ENT) of 130 high schools in Ile-de-France and Hauts-de-France. The anonymous author claimed to be from Daesh. The investigation, for “fraudulent access and maintenance in an automated data processing system, and fraudulent introduction of data”, was entrusted to the brigade for the fight against cybercrime, a division of the Parisian judicial police.

Nicole Belloubet then announced the holding of an “audit on the security of ENTs, to see if there are any possibly repairable flaws”.
