In total, there will therefore be 27 ministers and 9 secretaries of state working to implement state policy. Heavyweights from the old team remain in place. Of the 27 ministers, 15 have been reappointed, including 14 in the same position.
We will notably note the Minister of Justice, Landy Randriamanantenasoa, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Rindra Rabarinirinarison, or the Minister of the Interior, Justin Tokely.
Also reappointed are Edgar Razafindravahy for Commerce and Industrialization, Marie Michelle Sahondrarimalala for National Education, Zely Randriamanantany for Health, Joël Randriamandranto for Tourism, Tahina Razafindramalo for Posts and Telecommunications, Ndriamihaja Andrianatrehina, for Public Works, Valéry Ramonjavelo for Transport and Meteorology, Fidiniavo Ravokatra for Water and Sanitation, Paubert Mahatante for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Olivier Rakotomalala for Mines.
Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy leaves the Ministry of Culture and Communication and takes over the portfolio of Technical Education and Vocational Training.
On the other hand, two of the sovereign ministries reveal new faces. This is the case at National Defense with the arrival of Major General Sahivelo Delphin, former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and at Foreign Affairs where Yvette Sylla, close to the President of the Republic, gives way to Rafaravavitafika Rasata, who was until then his director in charge of economic expansion at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The arrival of the mayor of the capital Antananarivo, Naina Andriantsitohaina, as Minister of Decentralization and Territorial Planning, of Augustin Andriamananoro, vice-president of Mapar-TGV (the presidential party), of Culture and from Max Fontaine, founder of Bôndy, a social enterprise in the reforestation sector in Madagascar, to the Environment, are also worth highlighting.
However, despite repeated calls by civil society organizations to raise the protocol rank of the Ministry of the Environment in order to send a strong signal about the country’s desire to protect its biodiversity and natural resources, the ministry remains in 26th position. .
