A new feature makes leveling in the Lord of the Rings MMORPG particularly fun

On the two new, legendary servers of Lord of the Rings Online, a new world event is bringing a breath of fresh air to the leveling experience of Middle Earth. MeinMMO tells you what is behind “The Veil of the Nine”.

What is this new event? “The Veil of the Nine” is the special challenge that awaits you on the two legendary servers Angmar and Mordor of Lord of the Rings Online, which went live at the beginning of August.

  • During the event, the nine Nazgûl – Ringwraiths under the command of Sauron – scour Middle Earth for the Ringbearer. The Nazgûl have great power and can only be defeated by a squad of several heroes.
  • In addition, there are lesser minions wandering around the country. These are comparatively weak. As soon as your character has reached level 10, he should be able to deal with the nameless spirits.
  • Nasty: As long as the event is active, the lesser spirits, but also the Nine, can stab you in the back while you are involved in a fight.
  • As soon as a Nazgûl appears, a corresponding warning appears in the world chat. Now you should team up with other characters to have a realistic chance of defeating the Ringwraith before it catches its victim alone or runs away after a while.
  • If the Nazgûl finds himself facing overwhelming odds, he can banish characters into the shadows, only to have them reappear somewhere else.

    What rewards await?

  • Defeated Nazgûl drop a Morgul Coin and reward you with a title. Nameless spirits give you Shadow Scraps.
  • Morgul Coins and Shadow Scraps can be exchanged for tools, cosmetic items, shadow companions, and title frames from the stressed-out scholar Amelia of Esteldin.
  • If you’re lucky, you can find one of the twelve lesser rings of power anywhere in Middle Earth. However, they’re fickle and change their location every few days.

    • At first, the ghosts’ respawn times were so short that players were overwhelmed by the constantly appearing enemies. In the official forum, the developers have now announced that they want to adjust the frequency accordingly based on the feedback (via forums.lotro.com).

    Lord of the Rings Online Classic Plus

    What is special about the legendary servers? The legendary servers allow you to experience the chapters of the Middle-earth adventure in chronological order for the first time or again, while challenges such as “The Veil of the Nine” bring a breath of fresh air to the leveling experience.

    The developers are gradually expanding the available content to include new levels and regions. The maximum level on Angmar and Mordor is currently 50. As soon as the maximum level of the live servers on Angmar is reached, the developers want to offer the option of moving to non-legendary servers of your choice. Mordor will remain live as long as it is financially viable.
