After nine years, a new Easter egg has now been discovered in The Witcher 3. There is a very simple reason why this remained secret for so long. Because you have to make a bit of effort to find it.
Which Easter Egg has now been discovered? The world of The Witcher 3 offers an incredible amount to do and discover. This always includes a lot of Easter eggs full of references to films, series, literature and other video games. Our colleagues at GamePro have put together a large number of them for you.
The role-playing game has now been published for 9 years and you would think that players have already found all the Easter eggs. The YouTuber xLetalis proved the opposite in a video.
In an underground passage beneath Novigrad, one of his spectators found a wall drawing. This shows a soldier pointing his finger at you. Below it is the text “CDPR NEED YOU!”, a reference to a well-known recruitment poster and the abbreviation of the development studio behind The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
Why did the Easter Egg stay secret for so long? This Easter egg is not that easy to find in the world of The Witcher 3. In his video (via YouTube), xLetalis demonstrates that you can’t even see it with the free tracking shot because it never hits the right angle.
Instead, it takes an otherwise annoying glitch to get Geralt to the point from which you can see the image. You have to reach the small passage under Novigrad with Geralt and walk down.
What kind of glitch is this? In his video, the YouTuber tries to explain which glitch his viewer is said to have exploited to find the secret Easter egg. However, he himself has not yet been able to exploit this glitch.
His spectator ran into the wall full of bookshelves in the bathhouse office and simply slipped through the wall. This then teleported him directly under the city and directly opposite the mural.
xLetalis itself tried to recreate this situation, but couldn’t. Instead, he went to the appropriate spot above the corridor and used the “phase” console command to glide through the walls, as he shows in his video.
So he got into the underground passage himself and was able to confirm the new Easter egg.
Now what does that mean? Only they probably know whether the developers simply installed this Easter egg for fun or whether there is real meaning behind the mural. Maybe it was even a very serious call to apply for a position at the studio.
True to the motto: If you have found this picture here, then you have proven yourself worthy of trying CDPR. The YouTuber also asks himself this question in his video. After all, the studio has already hired modders for Cyberpunk 2077. So this special type of job advertisement might actually be possible.
Even in other games you are not safe from annoying glitches. In Palworld, a glitch recently became a weak point for the bosses: Palworld: Player discovers a glitch that leaves bosses completely defenseless: “Must be fixed as quickly as possible”
