If there is one manufacturer that has bet everything on collector controllers, it’s Microsoft! Not a month goes by without the American manufacturer unveiling a new color for these controllers for its Xbox consoles and more. Today however, it is a particular controller that is presented, since it was designed from recycled plastics, a third of which from regranulated or regenerated materials. It is also by using these recycled resins that the controller obtains these unique colors, which according to Microsoft “reminiscent of the Earth with its subtle variations, swirls, marks and different textures”. This is obviously for marketing purposes, even if the American giant is definitely part of the fight against pollution in certain aspects. Suddenly, to try to be connected in its words and actions, Microsoft has decided to impose a rechargeable battery in this recycled controller, since it is usually disposable batteries that are usually favored. A bit paradoxical isn’t it? But the goal is to change over the coming years, and it may well be that Microsoft and the Xbox brand abandon the batteries for good to have a coherent and united discourse.
Note that the Xbox Remix Special Edition wireless controller is already on pre-order at a price of €84.99 and will be available from April 18 via the Microsoft Store; then on April 25 at other retailers.
