A new aid of 150 euros per month for all the French envisaged

A new aid of 150 euros per month for all

The creation of a new “check” to households will be studied.

It is a proposal that could give a smile to many French people. While the Family Allowance Fund offers many financial assistance systems and social security is taking care of a plethora of medical spending, a mix between the two organizations is offered to create a new check. It would even be a new vital card, on which money would be automatically credited by the State.

On this completely new means of payment, 150 euros would be paid on it every month. Precious financial support for the poorest, but which would not be limited to the most modest households. Indeed, according to the planned project, all French people are eligible for this bank card. A revolution?

Among all the aids that exist in France, many allow you to pay your rent, have your children keep, finance disability or dependence expenses, or even complete your salary. A component is not supported by CAF: that of food. No national aid exists specifically used to fill the fridge. Just we can talk about restaurant tickets (partly funded by employees and businesses) or some local initiatives.

Thus, in order to guarantee that anyone can feed properly, the idea of creating a “food card” has emerged. It comes from Charles Fournier, environmental member of Indre-et-Loire. The latter proposes that, every month, all French people, whatever their income, receive 150 euros.

This kitty could be spent for the purchase of certain food products, chosen by a collective of citizens, meeting specific criteria: local production, environmental standards, animal respect … Exit therefore meats from the other end of the world or without Doubt products that are too sweet!

An experimentation of this system will be subject to the vote of deputies. But except unlikely situation, she has almost no chance of succeeding. Its cost is estimated at 120 billion euros per year, including 75% funded by the public authorities. At the time of savings, it is difficult to imagine the adoption of such a device.

In addition, the remaining 25% would be financed by a new contribution from citizens. Finally, as presented, this aid would be for “everyone”, whatever the income level. Even the wealthiest would receive these 150 euros per month they don’t really need to do their shopping.
