Abusive withdrawals are again being made from several bank accounts.
They thought the case was over. That was without counting on the “resources” of their scammers. For several days, dozens of people have had nearly 50 euros wrongly withdrawn from their bank accounts. However, this is neither a subscription, nor an invoice, nor an exceptional and authorized payment. No, it is indeed a fraudulent withdrawal.
At the end of August, David had the unpleasant surprise of seeing that €44.99 – precisely – had been withdrawn from his current account, from abroad. Nicolas too, a few days earlier, as well as Mélanie, at the beginning of last month, as they testified on social networks. These people who have been harmed have not been harmed by chance. They all have one thing in common and thousands of others could very soon be affected by this loss of money.
For several years, many French people have been victims of abusive withdrawals, after having taken out insurance for their telephone or another electronic device purchased, among others, at Fnac. Name of the company responsible for covering this equipment: the Société française d’assurances multirisques. In other words, SFAM, from the Indexia group.
People who subscribed to this insurance saw their personal data, particularly banking data, transferred to other entities of the group and abusive withdrawals were made (Infopresse, Hubside Store) for years. Legal action has been taken, the company is in receivership and a trial is due to open at the end of September.
But the ordeal is not over! These same victims have seen a new company again make withdrawals without their authorization, since this summer, for a significant amount. The targets of the criminals were however “warned” beforehand: an e-mail, sent a few days before, indicates that a pseudo-mandate had indeed been signed and that the payment of €44.99 would therefore be made. However, these people never gave their authorization.
The company Equestrian Cup, with its Serena brand, is behind the withdrawal. If the mention appears on your account, accompanied by the precision “Premium Pack”, you must immediately notify your bank to try to prevent the operation. The company that carries it out is based in Belgium, managed by a close friend of the boss of SFAM.
At least 1,200 people are likely to be taken again without their consent. This is the number of victims who will be present at the SFAM trial in France, as specified by The Tribune.
