Which mod is it about? A thread on Reddit recently caused a stir. In it, user Karma_Doesnt_Matter points out that the visible laser modifications that can be attached to various weapons in the game will ensure your certain death. There are different types of lasers, some of which are always on.
The laser modifications, which are always on, reveal your position, especially when you are about to turn a corner. The enemies see your laser first and can already aim at the corner before you appear.
Why is the modification popular among beginners? The problem is that on paper the laser modifications provide good stats when you equip them. But the best stats are of little use if your opponents know where you are first. This is why beginners in particular choose the modifications and fall into the trap. Beginners should choose other modifications to remain a little more inconspicuous.

What other things can give you away? There are other things mentioned on Reddit that can tell you. For example, the eye-catching costumes like cats or ones that light up.
They are just so noticeable compared to the normal camouflage patterns that you can be seen straight away. Even if the costumes don’t provide improved stats, some players wear them simply for visual reasons.
What do the players say about this? On Reddit, players actually agree that the lasers are good on paper, but the corner issue makes them rather bad. Knights_Up describes the extreme situation: “»This guy uses cheats! He knows where I am all the time!!! This game loves cheaters!!!«
Said the guy dressed as a cat running around with two SMGs with pink lasers that are a kilometer long.”
SlammedOptima says: “Honestly, at least the cat is wearing military gear and the colors are somewhat muted. The real problems are the characters, who literally shine. You’re literally wearing a “shoot here” sign.”
Other comments would rather not let players know that the lasers can be seen so well. CAPSL0CKS0N69 says: “You need to delete this post, buddy. There’s nothing to see here, kids. Put your lasers back on and go about your business.”
We will not comply with the Reddit user’s request and would rather inform you about the topic. However, other Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 players are getting their wishes fulfilled by the developers. These are now removing an annoying feature, just as the community wanted.
