According to Ukrainian authorities, at least ten people were injured in a missile strike in Kiev on Thursday night when one of the missiles hit a 25-storey residential building.

One of the missiles that struck Kiev on Thursday night hit a hotel near the UN Secretary-General António Guterres had stayed, says a spokesman for Guterres.

Spokesman Stéphane Dujarric told the American To CBS News (switch to another service)that at the time of the attacks, a UN delegation was negotiating in the office of the Prime Minister of Ukraine, meaning they were not in a hotel.

The attacks took place only about an hour after Guterres and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi had held a joint briefing.

– These [iskut] tell of the Russian leadership’s efforts to humiliate the UN and everything that that organization represents, Zelenskyi said.

Adviser to the President of Ukraine Myhailo Podoljak Guterres again pointed out on Twitter that Guterres had met Putin just a couple of days before the attack on Russia.

– The day before, Guterres was sitting at a long table in the Kremlin. Today, explosions are happening above him. Is this a postcard from Moscow? Recall why Russia still has a place in the UN Security Council, he wrote.

According to Ukrainian authorities, one of the missiles hit a 25-storey residential building in the Shevchenkivsky district of the city center. At least ten people are said to have been injured.

The State Rescue Service of Ukraine posted pictures on the site on Telegram and Twitter.

According to Ukraine, Russia was behind the attacks. The U.S. Department of Defense, meanwhile, says it is still investigating the case.
