Neighboring Greece’s project to ignite the debates in the Aegean has emerged. According to Lausanne, Greece, which has armed the islands that should not be inhabited, is now planning to connect the bridges in a way that will excite tourism professionals. According to the project, it is aimed to connect the islands of Kilimli and Leros with a 760-meter bridge at the first stage, and to connect the 10 islands on the Turkish coast with bridges in the next stages.
THE PROJECT IS AT MİÇOTAKİS’ TABLE
According to the news in Yeni Asır, the connection between Kilimli, which is 8 miles away from Bodrum and among the islands that should not be inhabited according to the Treaty of Lausanne, and Leros Island, which is 10 miles away from Bodrum, came to the fore. and excited the locals. It has been learned that the Kilimli-Leros Bridge, one of the tourism projects in order to be able to move easily and uninterruptedly on two islands in the Southeast of the Aegean and close to each other, was prepared by the local administrations and tourism professionals of the islands and presented to the government. In the project, which turned out to be prepared in 2018, it was stated that the length of the bridge will be 760 meters and the height of the bridge, which is proposed to be a road crossing over a bridge complex extending parallel to Megalo Glaronisi, Mikro Glaronisi and Velona, which are among the two islands, namely Megalo Glaronisi, Mikro Glaronisi and Velona. The project also includes Platio and Goat Island (Pserimos), which is 4 miles from Bodrum, which Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited last June and which are among the disputed islands, but which Greece first opened for settlement and then armed, and started to open a school last month. ) was announced.
CHANGES FROM 270 MILLION EURO TO 630 MILLION EURO
In the advanced phase of the project, it was stated that studies were carried out to connect Andros-Tinos, Milos-Kimolos and Folegandros-Sikinos islands, which are close to the Turkish coasts in the Aegean Sea, with bridges. It was learned that the cost of the bridge to be built between the islands ranged between 270 million and 630 million Euros.
“TURKEY WILL BE AHEAD OF GREECE IN 2 YEARS”
Terrorism and security expert Erhan Çalışkan talked about the main purpose of Greece, which has opened and armed many islands where settlement is prohibited according to the Lausanne agreement. Stating that Greece has recently aimed to place heavy weapons on these islands under the name of NATO, with the USA behind it, Caliskan said:
“On the one hand, they are putting forward a bridge project to include other disputed islands in order to add new ones to the islands that it has occupied in violation of the agreements. However, Greece’s financial situation is not suitable for such a project. They are trying to find resources from the West. Turkey is trying to solve it quickly with the support of the Turkish Armed Forces, because Turkey has achieved a domestic rate of 95% in the Land Forces, 60% in the Naval Forces and 30% in the Air Force, while Greece gets 80% of its army’s needs from the West. The situation puts the Greek economy in a deadlock. There is a relative balance of power in the air and naval forces. In 2 years, Turkey will surpass Greece in the naval forces. It is trying to conclude the situation in the islands, territorial waters and airspace issues in its favor before the current balance of power deteriorates further. “
