Kaan Kairinen’s Sparta Praha has won the Czech football championship. Kairinen joined Sparta in the January transfer window.
Finnish national team player Kairinen too represented by Sparta Praha celebrates the Czech football championship. Sparta’s championship was sealed when the team played a goalless draw against Slovacko on Tuesday.
Sparta Praha won its first championship in nine years. Sparta has a three-point lead over their local opponent Slavia Praha before the last round of the final series. The champion team is piloted by a Dane Brian Priske.
Midfielder Kairinen was on the sidelines for Tuesday’s match because his card account was full. The 24-year-old Kairinen has played 14 matches in the spring season of the Czech League, in which he has scored one goal and assisted five hits.
Kairinen’s path to Sparta Prague’s team opened in the transfer window of last January. Kairinen signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Sparta, the value of which was reported to be 1.5 million euros.
Before moving to the Czech league, Kaan Kairinen represented Norwegian Lilleström.
Kairinen, 24, is a rare Finnish footballer in that he has won the championship in two foreign major leagues.
Kairinen won the Danish championship at FC Midtjylland in 2018.
