a massive and violent review bombing the players are angry

The return of the servers through the 1.08 update and Kazunori Yamauchi’s apology won’t have been enough to satisfy Gran Turismo 7 players, who are currently venting their anger with a massive and violent review bombing on Metacritic. As of this writing, the user rating is 2.4/10, a dizzying drop of more than 5 points before the incident 2 days ago. Of the 3,932 reviews registered, 2,254 are truly negative. Some are outright claiming a refund for their game for being deceived by the merchandise, as relayed by Eurogamer. If most players question the mandatory connection to play it solo, others point to the new economic balancing which turns out to be even less generous in credits when the game is launched.

This is obviously an attempt to push players to spend real money, discouraged by now staggering numbers, something we saw when we wrote our full test. This is all the more frustrating for the players since the producer Kazunori Yamauchi hinted that there will be no rollback concerning the cost of the vehicles, but that in exchange, we can count on extra bonuses and features. Not sure that Polyphony Digital has made the best choice in terms of communication, especially after more than 30 hours of maintenance, which will have highlighted this mandatory connection which is likely to be debated for a long time to come.
