A maniacal little animal spends its nights tidying up this

A retired postman was surprised to discover that a small animal had been coming to tidy up his workbench every evening for two months. When he saw that the things from the day before were mysteriously put back in their place, he decided to install a camera to film this somewhat maniacal being. Video.

We don’t always imagine what can happen once night falls, when we have put the children to bed and the whole family has peacefully fallen asleep. In Builth Wells, Wales, Rodney Holbrook had an experience that was surprising to say the least. Every morning, he noticed that his belongings from the day before had mysteriously moved in his shed. Worse: they were stored in his workbench. “At first I noticed that some of the food I prepared for the birds ended up in old shoes that I stored in the shed” he told The Guardian newspaper. This retired postman, aged 75, and passionate about wildlife photography, decided to install a surveillance camera to observe what happens when his back is turned. And above all, who is this little being who is obsessed with tidying up and particularly organized?

He then discovers the culprit: a little mouse, who has been coming to tidy up his shed every night for almost two months. According to the retiree, the mouse uses the objects to hide nuts and provisions. But she also picks up clothespins, corks, bolts and nuts… She was even filmed moving cable ties, to place everything in a small pot.

In short, a real handy little mouse that Rodney Holbrook nicknamed “the well-kept rodent”. But the most surprising thing is that this retiree had the same experience in 2019 while living in another city, in Bristol. “This video went viral and touched people all over the world… So I can’t believe that here in Builth Wells the same thing happened years later.”
