A 20-year-old man who was previously convicted of a murder at a hairdresser’s salon in Gothenburg is now acquitted by the Court of Appeal, which considers that the evidence is not sufficient. DNA traces on a partially burnt shirt weighed heavily when the man was sentenced in the district court. The victim, who was in the salon getting a haircut, was shot eleven times by two masked men who rushed in through a back door each with a gun. The district court compared the incident to an execution. – It is a brutal execution, says Stefan Olofsson, head of investigations at the serious crime section in Greater Gothenburg in a press release. The murder, which was captured by a surveillance camera, took place in the middle of the afternoon in the Högsbo district in July 2021. It is believed to be connected to gang conflicts in southwest Gothenburg. See images from the murder scene in the player above.
