The criminals allegedly made a ransom demand from the victim’s son who currently resides in Dubai. An investigation has been opened.

The car was in a supermarket parking lot in Saint-Pavace, in Sarthe on the outskirts of Le Mans. The affair begins 600 kilometers from this area, in Ain at Saint-Genis-Pouilly. Police officers from the Le Mans anti-crime brigade (Bac) were called to intervene at a service station in Saint-Pavace, where two individuals, wearing balaclavas, were refueling a Mégane car which had been stolen in the department of Eure. To prevent their escape, the police hit the vehicle on the driver’s side. However, despite this maneuver, the two men managed to escape on foot. They are currently still on the run and have not yet been found, but one of the criminals’ hoods has been found.
Ransom demand for son living in Dubai
During the intervention, the police heard screams, “help” coming from the trunk of the vehicle. It was then that they discovered the 56-year-old man. The victim then explains that she no longer knows what day or time it is. She also claims to have been kidnapped in the presence of his wife and daughter, tied up at his home. According to a source close to the case, the victim’s son lives in Dubai and a ransom demand was made to him via encrypted networks.
The investigation was entrusted to the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor’s office, and the gendarmes of the Lyon research section were contacted.
