A man is thrown out of his apartment – because of the dog’s howling

A man’s dog in Ängelholm howls and barks too much when it is left alone in the apartment, according to several neighbors. As the situation has not improved over time, the host has chosen to terminate the tenant’s contract, reports Home & Rent.

The man in question believes that the dog does not make as much noise as the neighbors have said. He also says that he usually stands for a while and listens at his own door to listen if the dog makes noise, but that he never heard anything.

– I know he has a little separation anxiety and maybe it sometimes happens that he may howl briefly when I leave home, he tells the newspaper.

Received written warnings

The landlord believes that they have had to receive several complaints regarding the dog. The complaints have come from neighbors in three different stairwells and several neighbors have moved because of this.

The man received a written warning this spring and another warning in January. Despite this, the situation has not improved and the landlord has decided to terminate the agreement due to the continued disturbances.

The man does not accept the termination and therefore the landlord has turned to the Rental Board in Malmö to try the case legally.

– There is no ambiguity about this, says the responsible manager to Hem & Hyra.

The defense: Children sound too

The tenant also says that it is not impossible that the dog can make noise – but that children and other active people can also make noise. He believes that there is no evidence of a dismissal and that the neighbors have turned against him.

– I was first told that neighbors said that the dog howled at night. I can understand that people wouldn’t like that, I wouldn’t have liked that myself, and couldn’t sleep, he says to Hem & Hyra.
