During yesterday evening, a 75-year-old woman was found dead in a residence on Södermalm in Stockholm.
Shortly after the alarm, the police were able to arrest a man in his 30s – who is the woman’s grandson.
– He is arrested on suspicion of murder, says Chamber prosecutor Carolina Frohm to TV4 Nyheterna.
At half past ten on Sunday evening, an elderly woman was found dead in a home on Södermalm in Stockholm. The woman, who is 75 years old, is said to have been subjected to violence with an affection.
Shortly after the police arrived at the scene, they were able to arrest a man in his 30s in connection with the crime scene.
– He was arrested early last night. He is under arrest on suspicion of murder, says District Attorney Carolina Frohm on Monday.
Double hearings on Monday
The man and the woman are related to each other.
– It’s his grandmother, says Carolina Frohm.
The murder investigation is led by the prosecutor, and Carolina Frohm states that the man was questioned twice on Monday about the events at Södermalm.
– I cannot say anything about what has emerged in the interrogation, she says.
There are still several question marks in the investigation. Carolina Frohm cannot comment on the motive behind the suspected murder.
– I have no information about that, she says.
Awaiting response from the autopsy
Going forward, further interrogations will be held with people in the investigation.
– We are also awaiting an autopsy report. Then some other investigative measures, witness interviews and crime scene investigation, will be carried out, says Carolina Frohm.
At the latest on Thursday at 12:00, the prosecutor must make a decision whether or not the man should be remanded in custody.
