The incident is said to have taken place at Vindeln Folkhögskola in early April and the trial is now underway in Umeå district court. The man is accused of kidnapping, sexual assault and several rapes.
Both the suspect man and woman study and live, in rooms opposite each other, at the school. The man has previously been treated in psychiatry and is convicted of several assaults against women.
“Draged me into the room – was heavy-handed”
The man is now suspected of locking the woman in her room and forcing her to stay.
– He pulled me into the room. He was tough. I didn’t understand anything. He grabbed my upper arms and pulled me in, says the woman in the interrogation.
If someone else came in, he would cut her and her dog’s throats, as well as hack to death and set fire to people who entered the room, she says further during the interrogation.
Managed to call for help
The man allegedly held the woman captive for two days before she managed to get a message out to her friends at school and call for help.
– The last thing I remember was saying to them “Call” and then I hung up the phone. If the police hadn’t come then, I don’t know what would have happened, says the woman in the interrogation.
When the police were alerted, the regional task force was sent directly to Vindeln. After breaking the door to the man’s room, they were then able to arrest him in bed, where the woman was also.
The police “secured” the man
One of the police officers says: “My colleague and I get in and secure the man. The man is laid on the floor and handcuffed.”
The man himself denies the accusations during the interrogation.
– I deny any crime and no comments. Everyone has their version of truth.
