A man critically injured after a drowning incident on Holmön

Shortly after midnight, a young man aged 20-25 years has had a drowning accident in Byviken and is now being cared for in the intensive care unit. This after an accident in connection with bathing during the night. The injuries are described as critical by the healthcare system.

In the site Flightradar’s history of flights on the night of Saturday, it can be seen that the Swedish Maritime Administration’s SAR helicopter moved out to Holmön around 00.15. A short time later, a helicopter from the Swedish Air Ambulance also came to Holmön around 00:30.

At 01:15 the Swedish Air Ambulance flew from Holmön to Norrland University Hospital in Umeå.

Neither the emergency services, police nor SOS alarm have had any information to share about the incident.
