AirTag shows him where his lost luggage is.
What is this gadget? The owner had hidden a so-called “AirTag” in his luggage. This is a gadget about the size of a coin. These devices can be activated with an iPhone and located using the Find My app. You can attach the AirTags to keys, bags or other things and you will quickly find out where you are misplacing your belongings.
Where were his things? The magician took advantage of this opportunity and checked where his luggage was with the “Find My” app on his iPhone. He found his bag lying on the tarmac. Because thanks to AirTag he was able to identify the position. He therefore returned to the airport to get his equipment.
The next step was to inform the ground staff. But the airline said his bag would be delivered to his hotel within five working days. The trouble was, his stay in Newark was only three days, so his stuff would have missed him. Also, the magician needed his bag for mass. So he had to come up with something else.
How did he get his stuff? Eventually he drove to the tarmac and informed a nearby United employee and asked if he could get his bag for him. The clerk explained that he had never experienced anything like this at the airport. He simply picked up the bag and placed it in the correct channel for it to arrive at baggage claim.
The whole action cost him 4 hours, but in the end he had his bag back.
