A look back at The Voyage of Telemachus by Arnold

In this program, filmmaker Arnold Antonin looks back on his documentary film “Le voyage de Télémaque” (2018), made on the life and work of the painter Hervé Télémaque, who died in France on November 10, 2022.

The Haitian filmmaker remembers the power of invention and creation of the illustrious painter Hervé Télémaque. By making the film “Le voyage de Télémaque”, Arnold Antonin wanted to pay tribute to this artist who never ceased to claim his Haitian origins. He also remembers a man in a wheelchair, but who never stopped painting with the only arm that still served him. Arnold thinks that the country must know Hervé Télémaque better, he promises in this sense to organize a great premiere of his film for the Haitian public.

Arnold Antonin also returns to his documentary “Can sculpture save the artistic village of Noailles?» and his latest film «The sublime and melancholy kitschby Lionel St-Eloi.
