There’s one class that’s even better at breaking into doors than rogues in Baldur’s Gate 3 – at least when it comes to certain types of doors. The druid.
Baldur’s Gate 3 gives you a lot of freedom to achieve your goals in the game – or at least to fail gloriously. Many paths in the game are closed and require either the skill of a rogue, social skills or puzzle skills to get past one or the other blockage.
But one of the most unpopular classes has a trick that allows it to easily bypass many blocked paths: the Druid.
What skill are we talking about? We’re talking about the druid’s burrow. He has access to this ability when the druid transforms into a badger. YouTuber Toyhouze presents this in a short clip on TikTok:
As a Badger, Burrowing allows you to dig into places you can see into, making it a perfect way to bypass bars that would otherwise require a key or a skilled Rogue to get past.
In which places does this work? Basically, you can use this trick with all bars. The important thing is that you only have a view into the room you want to enter – this is the case with bars in most cases.
If you cannot see the inside of the room, you cannot select it as a target area and digging cannot be used correctly.
Of course, there are almost always other ways to get into a room – Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players a lot of freedom. Sometimes you can open the door with a hidden switch, sometimes you can simply kick the door in with brute force. Entering as a badger only rarely attracts attention and you can disappear just as unseen as you came.
Have you already completed a run through as a druid in Baldur’s Gate 3 and made extensive use of the various abilities of the animal forms? Or was your only druidic contact with Halsin in an infamous scene? The only thing more “evil” than that is a child that can be used as a weapon.
