The wealthy, residential town of Kleinmachnow south of Berlin rarely hits the headlines. The wildest animals encountered there are wild boars, as is often the case in the region. But a lioness, this is less common. Witnesses observed the animal last night around midnight and filmed it: the beast was precisely chasing a boar. The police have been contacted. From Southwest Berlin is on high alert.

Police patrol, helicopters, drones, thermal cameras are used to find the animal. Veterinarians are armed to put the lioness to sleep if they see her. Hunters are at their side if the animal must be killed. The population has been alerted and must stay at home. Kindergartens, since the schools are currently closed, remain open, but no one is to leave the buildings. A market has been cancelled.

It is not known where this lioness comes from. Berlin zoos are full. The German circuses no longer have any. There remains the hypothesis of an individual who would illegally hold this animal at home.
