Russia is attacking cities around Ukraine with missiles and drones. At least one person has died and several have been injured.
Russia strikes with a massive missile and drone attack on cities around Ukraine. Air warnings are in effect throughout the country.
Explosions have been detected in the capital, Kyiv. It is not yet known whether the explosions are the result of hits on the city or the successful countermeasures of missiles by the Ukrainian air defense.
Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klytsko write in Telegram, that a warehouse building is burning in the Podil district. According to Kyiv authorities, the apartment building is also on fire. Extinguishing works are already underway.
According to Klytško, at least five people have been wounded in the attacks that hit Kyiv.
“Explosions in Kiev. Anti-aircraft at work. Stay safe!”, Klytško writes in Telegram.
According to the BBC, missiles and drones have also hit Lviv in western Ukraine, Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine, and Odessa in southern Ukraine.
One person has died and eight have been wounded in a Russian missile attack on Kharkiv’s industrial area, the city’s mayor says.
