Marguerite Abouet, born in Abidjan, in the popular district of Yopougon, was twelve years old when she arrived in Paris, where she discovered libraries with wonder and was passionate about books. She has since been the author of the “Aya de Yopougon” series drawn by Clément Oubrerie, “Akissi” with Mathieu Sapin and “Commissaire Kouamé” with Donatien Mary, volume 2 of which has just been published by Gallimard/Bd editions.
