At the beginning of the 19th century, the estate received regular royal visits. King Willem II regularly visited Vollenhoven when he was at Soestdijk, his summer palace. His wife Anna Paulowna, who was the daughter of the Russian tsar, and a few of their children often went to drink tea or lunch at Vollenhoven. And his father, Willem I, was also a welcome guest.
