During the Monday morning of December 11, a major workplace accident occurred in Stockholm. A construction lift fell 20 meters on a construction site in Sundbyberg.
On December 12, the prosecutor announced, Gunnar Jonasson, that five people died in the accident.
One of the five who died in the elevator accident in Sundbyberg was 26 years old Anton Runsvik from Matfors, outside Sundsvall.
Anton was a popular guy who is now mourned by many. The floorball association that Anton played in describes him as a humble, kind and calm person.
“Anton didn’t take the biggest place on the field but had one of the biggest hearts, both on and off the field. He was a humble, kind and calm guy who was wise and mature for his age. Our condolences go to the family, relatives and friends where the loss of Anton will be great”, writes Vattjoms IK’s board in a statement to Today’s news.

Company CEO: “Unfortunately, accidents happen in the industry”
At a press conference on December 12, the company’s CEO said Patrik Toresäter that the dead construction workers were employed by a subcontractor hired by Andersson Company.
Patrik Toresäter also said that “unfortunately, accidents happen in the industry”.
