A highly anticipated sci-fi series is coming to Netflix soon, fans think the new trailer is “damn good”

The series “3 Body Problem” can be seen on Netflix from March 21st. A new trailer shows: The series adaptation of the popular science fiction novel “The Three Suns” seems to be highly ambitious. However, fans’ reactions to the trailer are mostly optimistic.

Which series is it about? “3 Body Problem” is an adaptation of a great science fiction novel. Namely “The Three Suns” by the Chinese writer Liu Cixin.

The novel, which was published in China in 2008 and was only translated into German in 2016, is only the first part of a whole trilogy. The book has received numerous awards around the world since its publication and is considered one of the best sci-fi novels of the 21st century so far, according to goodreads.com.

The story revolves around humanity’s attempt to come into contact with extraterrestrials called “Trisolarians”. Their planet is under the influence of three suns, which is where the German title of the novel comes from. A conflict quickly develops, culminating in a possible alien invasion.

The new trailer has high expectations among fans

How is the trailer received by fans? There are numerous comments from enthusiastic fans on YouTube. Many have read the book and hope that it will be implemented as faithfully as possible to the original.

For example, user @JonJonRevolution writes: “The cast and crew are fantastic. Now we can only hope that they get the chance to make all three books into films with the time and money necessary.”

And @amberhan6524 also thinks: “I already love the atmosphere! This trailer gives me goosebumps! I just finished all 3 books and at the end I was so overwhelmed that I sat there for hours unable to articulate myself.”

Above all, the impressive images raise fans’ expectations. @princephillip1481 says: “This looks damn good! Can’t wait. Very nice, Netflix.”

But even viewers who don’t know the book can gain something from the trailer. “I’ve never read the books, but the trailer was fantastic!” says @bucknutz9290.

Despite everything, there is also concern in one or two comments. The high budget of around 200 million dollars (via Moviepilot) is no guarantee for a successful implementation. User @TheGalacticWest seems to be familiar with the template when he notes, “I’m not sure how they plan to tackle the weirder things in the series, but I’m curious.”

There is also concern that Netflix would not be able to continue the series after just one season. This has happened several times in the past, for example in the “1899” series by the makers of “Dark”.

From March 21, 2024, both long-time fans and those who do not know the novel can venture into its mysterious universe. The series will then air on Netflix and will be eight episodes long.
