Frenchman Kylian Mbappé will experience a highly anticipated outcome this Friday, October 25.
The Real Madrid star and captain of the France team has been in turmoil for several weeks and this situation could continue. If the latest information can be counted on one’s fingertips, Kylian Mbappé would still be the target of an investigation for rape after his trip to Stockholm on October 10, according to the Swedish press, while local justice has still not confirmed that he was targeted.
But in addition to this affair which created a real tidal wave in Kylian Mbappé’s entourage, the Frenchman is also engaged in another long-term procedure: that which pits him against his former club, PSG, for a big money deal this time. This Friday, October 25, the former striker of the capital club should also receive an important verdict in his dispute.
In detail, the world champion is demanding 55 million euros in unpaid salaries and bonuses from PSG. This conflict between the two parties would find its origins in an agreement reached in August 2023 between the attacker and the management of the club. The player was then left out of the team for refusing to extend his contract with PSG. This extension would have guaranteed the club to receive the money during his transfer in 2024, while Mbappé signed free with Real Madrid last summer.
According to the 2023 agreement, put forward in particular by PSG, Kylian Mbappé would have undertaken to waive 55 million in various bonuses if he were to leave free at the end of the season. “In law and in fact, the player has made clear and repeated public and private commitments which the club simply asks to be honoured, and the player has benefited from unprecedented benefits from the club for seven years,” explains the PSG to justify the non-payment of the requested amount.
The club also mentions “a question of good faith, honesty, maintaining values and respect for the Parisian institution and its supporters”. But the validity of this document is contested by the Real player’s camp, which for its part speaks of a “hidden agreement”.
After an attempt at mediation by the League to avoid going to trial, the player’s categorical refusal led to the request for payment of 55 million within a week. A decision immediately contested by PSG, which this time provoked the convening of the joint appeals committee of the Professional Football League (LFP). It is she who will decide this Friday on the request of Kylian Mbappé. With the result being a conflict that could further escalate.
