At least four students were stabbed this Thursday at midday at the Lycée Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides, in Nantes. One of the victims died of his injuries. The assailant was arrested.
This Thursday, April 24, 2025, a high school student entered the school of Notre-Dame-de-Toutes-Aides, in Nantes with a knife in the early afternoon. Several people received stabs, at least four students were stabbed. According to information from Bfmtv And West Franceone of the victims died, following his injuries, and three other people are seriously injured.
On site, the firefighters and two SMUR medical teams did the necessary to take care of the victims. “The entire establishment has been evacuated to a multipurpose room”, tells us Ouest France. The rue des Épinettes is now completely completed. In detail, the author of the facts went up to the second floor of the establishment and stabbed a first student, before going back down to the school and stab at least three teenagers.
A second school student
The assailant is a 15 -year -old young man, a second student in this high school, unknown to the police. He was arrested by the police. He was completely dressed in black, with a helmet and a hood. According to information from the local media, “two knives were nearby next to his business”. For his part, BFMTV specifies that the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau is expected on the spot in the afternoon.
At the scene of the facts, it is amazement, especially among the students of this high school. “We got out of our classroom at 1 pm and we saw lots of pupils crying we did not understand why,” said a student in the first class, interviewed by Ouest France. “We are very shocked, we only see that on television. We didn’t think it could happen in our high school,” said a second.The prosecutor of the Nantes Republic, Antoine Leroy, made the trip around the school, alongside the first deputy of the city of Nantes in charge of security, Bassem Asseh.
The strange email received by students the same morning
The Journal Ouest France also reports that several students of the private establishment received this strange email this Thursday which could have been sent by a second student entitled: “Immune action – the revolt is already the greatest victory that we can achieve”. A text of several pages where it is a question of “ecocide, alienation and social conditioning”, specifies the daily.
“We were in the labos, the tension began to rise after this start of the alarm, we saw the police arriving, we remained confined in the classes then we went out in the courtyard. We learned that teachers had interposed. A psychological cell was put in place. It is shocking,” says Joshua, a high school student.
