A hero from your childhood gets a new game on Steam, becomes a horror figure that devours her enemies

Do you remember the episode with PAC-Man from the Amazon Prime series “Secret Level”? In it Pac-Man became a real monster. The episode gets its own game on Steam, in which the yellow childhood hero becomes a devouring monster.

What kind of game will it be? At the Nintendo Direct there was a new trailer for Shadow Labyrinth. It is a 2D action platform, in which PAC-Man is no longer the way you remember it:

  • You control Swordsman No. 8, who wakes up on a foreign planet. Your goal is to survive and uncover the secret behind the world.
  • A floating ball called Puck accompanies you. You have to find out what Puck is up to and why he has just chosen you.
  • Together you have to defeat different enemies by using your skills or devouring the opponents after a merger with Puck.
  • Although the small, yellow ball is called puck, it is clear that its design is based on Pac-Man. But in Shadow Labyrinth, as a Gaia, she no longer devour ghosts and cherries, but your enemies.
  • The game has everything you would expect from a classic 2D metroid vania. Hard fights are waiting, upgrading skills and exploring the individual areas for you.

What is the game based on? Secret Level is an animation series in which a different video game is in the foreground in each of the 15 episodes. The episode with PAC-Man stood particularly high because it is particularly dark.

The small, sweet figure became a cruel being that wanted to escape from the labyrinth and uses a foreign being. The idea came from rights owner Bandai Namco: The team asked the showrunner to change Pac-Man in such a way that the audience should wonder what was helled with him.

When does it appear? Shadow Labyrinth will be released on July 18, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC via Steam.

The game is based on an episode of the Secret Level series. But there are more games that move into the spotlight in the episodes. So that you know what these are, you can look at the info hub on meinmmo: Secret Level: Release, Trailer and all games-all about the series on Amazon Prime
