HJK’s season in the Football Conference League ended with a 0–1 loss to Real Betis in Seville. HJK would have needed a victory in the match so that its dreams of a further place would have remained alive.
In the first half, “Klubi” stayed well with the home team until the 27th minute, but a terrible mistake by the Helsinki defense and Betis’ goal changed the course of the game.
The club’s Dutch goalkeeper Thijmen Nijhuis served the goal to Betis For Johnny Cardoso giving too quiet a pass to his own defender. Cardoso caught the ball, deflected Nijhuis and placed the ball into the empty net.
HJK also got the ball into Betis’ goal at the end of the match, but Georgios Antzoulas was offside, and the goal was disallowed.
