The coach of the French handball team, Guillaume Gille, announced this Saturday, December 23, his group of twenty players for the Euro in Germany (January 10 to 28) in which neither the goalkeeper Vincent Gérard nor the wingers Mathieu appear Grébille and Benoît Kounkoud. Vincent Gérard has only just returned from injury and has not yet returned to competition with Kiel, his German club. The three Blues goalkeepers at the Euro will be Charles Bolzinger, Rémi Desbonnet and Samir Bellahcene. On the left wing, Gille retained Hugo Descat and Dylan Nahi rather than Mathieu Grébille, and Yannis Lenne and Valentin Porte on the right wing at the expense of Benoît Kounkoud. During the Euro, the coach will have to choose 16 players from this list of 20 for each match. The French will first face North Macedonia on January 10 in Düsseldorf. Before that, they will play two preparation matches in Nantes on January 4 against Tunisia and January 6 against Brazil.
