According to the news of Armenia’s official news agency Armenpress, there were occasional clashes between citizens and security forces gathered in Republic Square, where the government building is located in Yerevan. Some demonstrators were injured in the melee. Security forces took precautions to prevent demonstrators from approaching the government building.
On the other hand, a group of Armenian protesters walked to the Russian Embassy and blocked the entrance of the embassy.
The demonstrators stated that they would not allow entry or exit to the embassy until their demands to stop the anti-terrorist movement in the Karabakh region are met.
– Anti-terror measures taken by Azerbaijan to establish the constitutional structure in Karabakh
After the 44-day 2nd Karabakh War, the steps taken by Azerbaijan’s so-called regime in Karabakh caused tension to rise.
In recent days, the so-called regime has carried out a series of provocations such as getting closer to the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the lands under its control, digging trenches to reinforce its own positions, different fortification activities, and sabotage attempts.
Armenian armed groups have continued to systematically open fire on Azerbaijani army positions and lay mines in the past few months.
Despite the demands from Azerbaijan for the dissolution of the so-called regime, the so-called “presidential election” held on September 9 in the lands controlled by Armenian forces further increased the tension.
Finally, a truck belonging to the Azerbaijani state institution stepped on a mine on the Ahmetbeyli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway in Hocavent province and 2 people lost their lives. The police vehicle that went to the scene stepped on another mine and 4 police officers were martyred.
