Joel Embiid continues in the ranks of the Philadelphia 76ers.
One of the biggest stars in the NBA basketball league Joel Embiid has come to an agreement on an extension contract with his club Philadelphia 76ers, and does not play by the buttons in the deal.
The club did not disclose the details of the contract, but ESPN reported based on their sources, that the parties reached an agreement on a three-year and 192.9 million dollar contract, or about 173 million euros.
With the contract, Embiid’s career earnings will rise to 514.8 million dollars, or about 461 million euros. Only in NBA history LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Paul George have been paid more in their careers, according to ESPN.
Playing as a center, Embiid, 30, has been playing in the league since the 2016-17 season and has represented the 76ers since the beginning. He was awarded the league’s Most Valuable Player MVP statue in the 2022–23 season.
– Philadelphia is my home. I want to be here until the end of my career. There’s a lot of work to do, you deserve a championship and I think we’re just getting started (in the championship chase),” Embiid told fans on his Instagram account.
