Sony presented new hardware at the PlayStation Showcase 2023: the long-hyped handheld and earbuds for the PS5.
What was presented? Sony has introduced two new gadgets for the PS5:
Both products are scheduled to appear “later this year”, but there is no exact date yet. A price is also not yet known. However, it is certain that Sony will present more information in the coming weeks.

New hardware comes in the white design of the PS5
What does the hardware look like? Handheld and earbuds are kept in the design of the PlayStation 5. The handheld actually looks like a Dualsense controller with a display unit in the middle, somewhat reminiscent of the handheld that Razer recently introduced. Here the price is at least 400 euros.
What does the handheld offer? The handheld should offer an 8-inch HD display and you should be able to play your PS5 games via Remote Play. And that via a stable WLAN connection. There were already cautious reactions to the first rumors about the handheld: Many had hoped for a successor to the PS Vita or the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and not for a pure streaming device.
What do the earbuds offer? So far, Sony has not given any specific information and only shown the design. At first glance, however, the earbuds look promising: Sony could at least fulfill one of our editor Benedikt Schlotmann’s big wishes.
