A game on Steam with 91% positive ratings is currently available for the price of a pack of noodles

The game has a historic low price on Steam right now. For just 1.97 euros you get around 2 hours of playing time in which you can repair broken things.

What kind of game is this?

  • Assemble With Care has been available on Steam since 2020 and has since collected 91% positive ratings from 6,467 votes cast.
  • We take on the role of a restorer named Maria who travels around the world. Her new stop is the holiday resort of Bellariva, where she has to repair numerous items.
  • We repair a wide variety of objects in 13 levels: everything from telephones to coffee machines. There is even a Game Boy among the items.
  • Meanwhile, stories are told in the background in which people grow together – including the protagonist and her parents.
  • In order to repair the items, you have to click on certain places. This allows screws to be loosened or defective cables to be removed. A special highlight is the accompanying soundtrack and the look of the game.

Assemble With Care is suitable for the Steam Deck

What is special about the game? Assemble With Care is particularly suitable for playing on the handheld. On the Steam Deck, either the touch controls or the pad can be used to rotate and manipulate the objects.

However, MeinMMO editor Jasmin Beverungen has found that the touch control on the screen is a bit fiddly.

Another special feature is that the game is only around 2 hours long. At a price of 1.97 euros, this is the perfect length for a gaming snack in between.

What do other users say? Many players from the 91% positive votes on Steam appreciate that the game is very heartwarming. You can find some helpful reviews here:

  • downlowtooslow: “Very short, very endearing puzzle game with easy to medium difficulty (depending on your familiarity with the objects, I assume) about repairing broken objects and broken pieces of relationships.”
  • m3rm: “A virtual picture book that consists mainly of story and little of game. A bittersweet story, a gentle soundtrack and little to no puzzle-solving challenge.”
  • LuziFuzz: “Simple and inexpensive game. Relaxing, story is also quite good and you can get it to 100% within an hour.”
  • But there is also criticism, even among the positive reviews. The biggest points of criticism include:

  • The playing time
  • The monotony because many of the mechanics of the items are repeated
  • More dialogue than puzzles
  • The price when Assemble With Care is not on sale
  • Sometimes tricky controls
  • If the criticisms don’t bother you and you’re willing to forego a pack of pasta when doing your weekly shopping, you can only get Assemble With Care today at a record low price.

Another game that falls into the cozy category like Assemble With Care is Loftia. The game relies on a cozy atmosphere, a colorful world and lots of quests. The release is planned for the end of 2025, at least for early access: New MMORPG sends you to a flying city to rest, wants to mix Stardew Valley and World of Warcraft
