Former Star Academy candidate, he has become a recognized artist and has the chance to become the official speaker of PSG.
Becoming a speaker in a football, rugby or other stadium is a real job, because you need to have a strong voice and a certain charisma. It is perhaps these criteria which pushed Paris 2024 to install Denis Brongniart in the speaker’s costume at the Stade de France, for athletics during the Olympics this summer. But for football or rugby clubs, you have to go even further and embody the identity of the club. At PSG, Michel Montana was this legendary voice, recognizable by all supporters of the club in the capital, and even beyond.
But since the end of last season and after 26 years of good and loyal service, Michel Montana has retired with a final “Here it is? Paris!” memorable. A few months later, the French champions still cannot find a worthy successor. As proof, the Parisian club has already called on two speakers since the start of the season, the host Miguel Derennes during the first four matches played at home, then Hervé Kohler, awarded in 2016 after winning a competition to become a “Speaker one night “on the occasion of the receptions in Strasbourg and PSV Eindhoven.
According to information from Le Parisien, a third speaker will be tested for the next two meetings, singer Jean-Luc Guizonne. For those who don’t know him, he is a former member of the Star Academy, promoted during season 5 before joining the troupe of the musical “The Lion King” abroad and in France for many years.
The young man, an unconditional PSG fan, already has a full and interesting CV for PSG, which offers him a golden opportunity. And for the record, his partner, Charlotte Namura-Guizonne (present in the photo just above) has now been at the side of the pitch for PSG TV since the start of the season, she who was a former sports journalist on the Téléfoot set .
The choice of finding a good speaker may seem trivial, but it is taken very seriously by PSG. “It’s an important subject and we really want to take the time to manage this matter as intelligently as possible,” one of the club’s executives told Le Parisien.
New personalities will be tested after the next international break and the last three matches at the Park. After judging the various performances, an “in-depth” reflection will then be undertaken by the leaders of PSG and the final choice will be announced at the beginning of 2025.
