Sunflower oil, like other vegetable oils, is obtained by extraction from the seeds using chemical solvents or by hot or cold pressing. It loses its nutritional value due to the processes it undergoes. In order to make the oil suitable for consumption during the production phase, it must undergo further purification processes such as deacidification, deodorization and color change.
It is possible to find both chemically extracted refined oil and cold pressed form of sunflower oil in the market. Both are suitable for food consumption, but of course only provide all the benefits of cold pressed sunflower seeds.

HOW MUCH SUNFLOWER OIL SHOULD BE USED?
Cold pressed sunflower oil can be used raw to flavor dishes, just like olive oil. The daily recommended amount of fat for the average healthy person is about 30 grams, or about 3 tablespoons in total. This amount should not be exceeded.
You can include both extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil in your diet at the same time. The total amount of 30 grams must be strictly adhered to. In general, since extra virgin olive oil is a food with nutritious and beneficial properties, it is recommended not to completely replace olive oil with sunflower oil. (Ensonhaber)
