Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida paid a surprise visit to Ukraine. Kishida was greeted at the train station in the capital, Kiev, by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Emine Dzheppa. Kishida visited Bucha, which first came to the fore with the allegations that Russia committed war crimes, and made investigations.

Kishida laid a wreath at the memorial with the names and photographs of Ukrainian soldiers who later died in the war. Kishida is expected to meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy and then move on to Poland.

“WE WILL REBUILD OUR COUNTRY WITH PARTNERS LIKE JAPAN”

Dzheppa said in a statement on his social media account, “Ukraine is delighted to welcome Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio. This historic visit is an indication of the solidarity and strong cooperation between us. We are grateful to Japan for its strong support and contribution to our future victory.” said.

Expressing that they visited Bucha, which was liberated from the Russian occupation last year, with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida, Dzheppa said, “Ukraine is grateful to the Japanese government for helping us overcome the harsh winter and providing generators to our people.
