A little over two weeks ago, Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi entrusted Augustin Kabuya with the mission of informant. The man has already met a number of political leaders with a view to identifying a majority in Parliament, but above all to forming a government.

It is at the Hilton hotel, in the heart of Gombe, a commune in Kinshasa (DRC), that the general secretary of the UDPS, the presidential party, has set up his offices for this consultation mission.
Over the past two weeks, Augustin Kabuya has already met the various leaders of parties and political groups of the ruling majority. All the major allies were received by the head of state’s informant: Vital Kamerhe, Jean-Pierre Bemba, Modeste Bahati, Christophe Mbosso and even the resigning Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde.
No meeting with the camp of the ex-governor of Katanga
Augustin Kabuya also received elected representatives who are not part of the Sacred Union of the Nation. From the start of his mission, he spoke with Constant Mutamba of Dypro, three deputies in this legislature, then with Adolphe Muzito, also three deputies, as well as with Matata Ponyo, ally of Moïse Katumbi during the presidential election of December 2023.
No meeting, however, with the camp of the ex-governor of Katanga for the moment while Ensemble de Moïse Katumbi is the first opposition force in Parliament with around twenty elected officials.
