Three people died and twenty was injured in a fire that started in a nursing home in Bouffémont, in Val d’Oise. An investigation is open.
The fire broke out early on Saturday, February 1, around 7:30 am, while 75 residents were present. According to the mayor of Bouffémont, where the Ehpad is located, the flames spread to the 3rd floor of the establishment, in the laundry room. The first and second floor were not affected. Although the city councilor explains that the causes of this fatal fire are most likely accidental, an investigation was opened by the Pontoise prosecutor’s office in order to determine their origin and circumstances. It was entrusted to the Montmorency research brigade.
